Manchester City have finally informed Tottenham Hotspur that they won't sell Savinho in the summer transfer window. This comes as a huge blow for Thomas Frank's side, who had earlier missed out on signing two key midfield targets, Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze. While Nottingham Forest blocked Gibbs-White move, arch-rivals Arsenal hijacked Eze's transfer at the last moment.

Last week, it was reported that Tottenham are ready to submit a new and improved bid of over €70 million (£60.6m/$82m) to lure City to sell Savinho. Spurs decided to increase their offer after the Cityzens blocked every approach over the past 10 days.

Now, reports that City have firmly informed Spurs that they won't part ways with Savinho in the summer transfer window, irrespective of their offer. Pep Guardiola sees the Selecao star as a key member of his squad and will not let him leave this season.

Blocking Savinho's transfer also effectively means that City are out of the race to sign Real Madrid's Rodrygo, as they would have only pursued the move if Savinho's transfer was sanctioned.
