Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after an ex-transfer target of theirs in Erling Braut Håland netted a hat-trick on his Bundesliga debut for Borussia Dortmund.
Italian outlet Calciomercato reported that the Reds were interested in the 2-cap Norway international, while respected journalist Nicolo Schira also stated that Jurgen Klopp’s side were following the youngster.
Eventually, the 19-year-old ended up at Borussia Dortmund after the German side met his release clause and handed RB Salzburg £17.1m for his services, and it didn’t take Håland long to get going at his new club.
The teenager replaced Lukasz Piszczek in the 56th minute, before scoring his first goal for the club just three minutes later when he smashed home a through ball from Jadon Sancho in the 59th minute.
Then, Håland scored again in the 70th minute when Thorgan Hazard kindly squared the ball for him to tap home.
The former Molde man then capped off a memorable day for himself when he powerfully curled a low finish past
Tomás Koubek in the 79th minute – incredibly, he only had 14 touches, seven passes and three shots, but scored with all of them.
Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the forward, who now has 31 goals in 23 outings this term…
To begin the reaction, these two fans said that they think Håland will become a superstar.
One supporter with the username ‘LFC_Nick’ mentioned that Liverpool’s clean sheet against RB Salzburg, and the Norway striker, in the Champions League shows how good the defence performed on that day, but conceded that the teenager is an “absolute baller” who “will go big”.
Luke added that the Borussia Dortmund No.17 will go “right to the top”.
Elsewhere, these two supporters used the adjectives “crazy” and “unreal” to describe Håland’s exploits on his Bundesliga debut – to be honest, they could even be deemed as understatements given how incredible his performance was.
Lastly, these two fans also had their say on the ex-Liverpool target’s Bundesliga debut.

James said that Håland is “proving he’s ready for the step-up” while Youssef said “what a player and what a signing” in regards to the Norwegian wonderkid.
