Manchester City stormed to the top of the Premier League table after winning a 3-2 epic at the Reebok Stadium.
Roberto Mancini promised goals and excitement at the start of the season and they are certainly not disappointed with nine goals in the last three games, including the Community Shield. They have conceded four and it remains to be seen if the Italian will be happy to see City remain carefree.
This was a classic Premier League game, full of excitement, high energy played by two very good teams. Owen Coyle’s men deserve a lot of credit for the efforts shown by the home side today in keeping themselves in the game throughout.
City to be honest could have been out of sight had Sergio Aguero had the same shooting boots on from last Monday, however he squandered the opportunities when presented. Fortunately for City, David Silva, Gareth Barry and Edin Dzeko weren’t struggling and their strikes ensured the three points take Mancini’s men to the Premier League summit for the next 24hrs at least.
A real advert for Premier League football by two teams that can certainly look forward to a strong season ahead.
