Harry Redknapp is hoping to make it third time lucky in his pursuit of Trinidad and Tobago star Khaleem Hyland.
The 20-year old midfielder has been on Harry Redknapp’s radar for some time, with the Tottenham boss trying to sign him on two occasions whilst he was manager with Portsmouth.
Each time it was the failure to land a work permit that scuppered both deals, however with Hyland now a regular with the national team and proving his worth at Zulte Waregem, Redknapp is hopeful to bring in Hyland from under the noses of his former club.
Hyland’s agent Steve Davies would like his client to go to Tottenham, given the player’s desire to move to England:
“A number of clubs are keen on signing Khaleem and Galatasaray have already seen two bids for him turned down,
“Tottenham are interested as Harry Redknapp is a big fan of Khaleem’s having tried to sign him when he was at Portsmouth.
“Khaleem’s first option is to move to England despite interest from elsewhere and I would like to take him to Tottenham.” (SkySports)
