City responded with three goals of their own, however, to move onto 38 points in the Premier League table, just one behind second-placed Leicester.
The Foxes are now 10 points off leaders Liverpool having played a game more, and it is very difficult to see Jurgen Klopp’s side dropping the points required for the likes of Leicester and City to pull themselves into the title argument.
Gary Lineker took to social media during the second half of the contest in Manchester, and the pundit admitted that his former side were ‘getting battered’.
The 59-year-old, who turned out for Leicester between 1978 and 1985, was also keen to pay tribute to the performance of Pep Guardiola’s side.
