Gyokeres has potentially been the most in-demand player heading into the summer transfer window, as the Swedish striker has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona, on the back of his fantastic season with Sporting. Manchester United signed Ruben Amorim from Sporting in October of 2024 to steady a sinking ship, however, the Portuguese coach was not able to fulfill all that was expected of him as the Red Devils floundered domestically and ended just shy of the Europa League. Missing out on the Champions League and all European football for next season, it was expected that United may have trouble convincing their summer targets, like Gyokeres, of a move to Old Trafford.

However, talkSPORT have now claimed that Gyokeres is reportedly open to the idea of reuniting with Amorim at Manchester United despite their lack of Champions League football. It is reported that the talks are yet to get underway between the 20-time Premier League champions and the Portuguese champions over a summer move.

United will have conduct a number of outbound transfers before they will be able to build up the necessary funds to sign Gyokeres.
