Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Malo Gusto has suffered a muscle injury and 'it's not a good one' after he was substituted against Fulham.

Gusto came off the bench during Chelsea's narrow 2-1 win over Fulham but was substituted himself shortly after, as he sustained what Maresca has now confirmed is a muscle injury. The Frenchman could now be facing up to a spell on the sidelines.

Chelsea needed a last-minute goal from Pedro Neto to claim all three points and it keeps them within reach of Champions League qualification. The Blues now sit fifth, which is the final Champions League qualification spot. They are level on points with both Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa in sixth and seventh, but have a superior goal difference.

Maresca told reporters: "Unfortunately it's not a good one, a muscle problem and you can see against Ipswich, second half he was inside, changed the game, today he was inside, changed the game, how important is Malo for us and unfortunately, it looks like a muscle injury."
