Republic of Ireland international Shay Given could be heading from Manchester City to Fulham on loan before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
The Cottagers' current first-choice keeper, Mark Schwarzer, continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal while his replacement in recent games, David Stockdale, picked up an injury during Saturday's 2-2 draw at Blackpool.
Given is keen to leave Eastlands after losing his place in Roberto Mancini's starting eleven to Joe Hart.
Fulham boss Mark Hughes said after the Bloomfield Road draw:"Mark Schwarzer has made it clear that he would like to go to Arsenal so we are trying to look at other options.
"I'm always interested in quality players and Shay Given is a quality player. Make of that what you will. But I have said that if we can't get anyone else in, Schwarzer will have to stay."
Hughes signed Given from Newcastle for £8million in January 2009 when he was the Manchester City boss.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
